Presenting on:
The Scarce Resources Model of Measuring the ROI of Volunteer Engagement

Length:
90 minutes (flexible)
Professional Level:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

volunteersWell run organizations know what they get for the dollars they spend. This is especially the case as agencies face economic uncertainty.

Measuring ROI (Return On Investment) in both monetary and non-monetary terms has tremendous benefits including:

  • Helps Executive Directors, Boards of Directors and CEOs to have a better understanding of the real value of a volunteer program,
  • Helps you to monitor the effectiveness of your department on a year-to-year basis,
  • Demonstrates the financial benefits of the organization’s investment of more money in the volunteer department (or at least the benefits of not cutting it back)
  • Provides Managers of Volunteer Resources additional points of professionalism as they seek new challenges in their careers.

Learning Objectives
In this session participants will:

  • Learn about emerging ideas on valuing volunteer efforts
  • Learn how to calculate all of the costs (monetary and human effort) that go into their volunteer program and how to compare that with the value of the accomplishments of their volunteers.
