There is so much to do and so much that could be done. There is so much expected of us from volunteers and so much expected of us from other staff and the board. With all of this, how do we ensure that we are running a volunteer program that is aligned as closely as possible with the mission of the organization?

Learning Objectives
In this session participants will:

• Learn the key indicators of whether an activity is something that should or should be carried out within a volunteer program
  
• Learn strategies for gaining support for engaging in the right activities and for not engaging in the wrong ones
  
• Learn strategies for defining the significance of their volunteer program within the organization

• Group discussion of a variety of examples of work done by leaders of volunteers that either contribute to the mission, or to varying degrees, erode the mission of the organization
• Participant worksheets for their own program analysis
